:: BattleLore | Home

BattleLore has to be the game I've invested the most time in. Although painting the miniatures was (and still is) a big part of the project, designing and building the gaming aids was also a great challenge.

Be it for its flaws or for its praise, a lot has been said about this game. Having no experience with previous Richard Borg/C&C game systems, I had the privilege to fully appreciate this game as a whole and not a sum of different elements combined.

I initially was looking to invest myself in a Warhammer type fantasy war game but I also didn't want to get into something to big. BattleLore came along just at the right time.

:: BattleLore | Epic Setup

Isn't Epic beautifull. Standard is also nice (see below), but Epic well, it's just MORE nice. In the set up above (just for show), I have both boards set up sideways since I can't fit them the other way on this table.

On the battle field, I've got all the troops from the basic set, including the Hill Giant and the Earth Elemental + two custom Dwarf heroes and my Fire Elemental (made from an additional Earth Elemental). Accessory wise, I've added a custom built castle, 3D hills and a high bridge.

Outside the board you'll notice a dice box for each player, a discard box, a mini card binder and to top it off, a panoramic montage displayed on the back wall. For the Epic set up, I had no room for the War Council sheets, but at least I could pile up those council counters on what was left of the table.
